Fast-Rising Jazz Stars, Rosenwinkel, Yahel, Sanchez & Very Special Guests Headline “Reaching Forth 2008: A Benefit for JazzReach”

New York City: On October 13, 2008, a venerable “who’s who” of some of the world’s fastest rising jazz stars assembled at the Blue Note Jazz Club for “Reaching Forth 2008: a benefit for JazzReach. The renowned guitarist, Kurt Rosenwinkel, organist, Sam Yahel and drummer, Antonio Sanchez comprised the rhythm section while the saxophonists, Marcus Strickland, Myron Walden, Miguel Zenon and trumpeter, Jeremy Pelt joined as very special guests.

Repertoire included everything from original compositions to interpretations of classic compositions by the masters, Joe Henderson and Larry Young among others.

It was an amazing evening of transcendent music with all proceeds from ticket sales benefiting JazzReach’s committed endeavors in arts education. JazzReach wishes to thank all the musicians, The Blue Note Jazz Club and all the patrons who came out for all your kind generosity and support.
