JazzReach Board Members Host Festive Summer “Friend-Raisers” to Help Increase More Grassroots Support

On Sunday August 2, 2009, JazzReach Board Members, Toni Booker (Chair) and Patrice Davis hosted a resoundingly successful “friend-raising” event at the New Jersey home of Ms. Davis. Attended by over 50 friends, family-members and colleagues of both Ms. Booker and Ms. Davis, the event featured an array of soulfully prepared home-cooked food, ice-cold beverages, tasty desserts and a live performances by a trio featuring JazzReach Founder, H. Benjamin Schuman, Metta Quintet member, Mark Gross (alto saxophone) and bassist, Dwayne Burno.

A similar and equally successful event was hosted on Saturday August 15 at the Brooklyn-home of JazzReach Board Member, Saundra Thomas that featured a trio with JazzReach Founder, H. Benjamin Schuman, fast emerging pianist, David Bryant and bassist, Dwayne Burno.

Private events such as these are critical to increasing public awareness about JazzReach and catalyzing the organization’s current goals to expand its Board, supporter-base and overall organizational bandwidth.
